Nurses With Savvy was founded with one purpose: to make healthcare easier to understand and navigate for real people, not just professionals. Behind this mission is a nurse who knows the healthcare system inside and out and, more importantly, understands what it feels like to be on the other side of it.
At Nurses With Savvy, we provide non-clinical patient advocacy and healthcare navigation to help individuals, families, and caregivers stay informed, organized, and supported throughout the medical journey. We assist clients during medical appointments by helping them understand physician-directed treatment plans in plain language and by supporting follow-up care coordination, reducing confusion, stress, and unnecessary setbacks.
Whether you are caring for a loved one or managing complex healthcare needs on your own, we help bridge the gap between medical teams and home life so everyone can focus on what matters most: better outcomes and peace of mind.
About the Founder
I’m Nicole W. Stevenson, LVN, BSHM, CCM, a licensed nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, a Certified Case Manager credential, and Lean Six Sigma training in healthcare quality and process improvement. My background blends clinical insight, care coordination expertise, and systems-level understanding of how healthcare really works.
Before launching Nurses With Savvy, I spent over a decade working in clinical, operational, and utilization management roles in acute hospitals and large managed care organizations. As a case manager, I saw families and caregivers who needed more time, clearer explanations, and better support, but the system often doesn’t allow for it. I knew I wanted to be part of the solution.
My turning point came in 2018, when my husband suffered a stroke. Overnight, I became not just a healthcare professional, but a wife, caregiver, and mother navigating a complex medical system while working full-time and raising young children. I supported communication with his care team, helped coordinate transitions to rehabilitation, and managed the logistics of equipment and services after discharge, while also caring for my aging parents.
Like many in the sandwich generation, I was balancing multiple roles and responsibilities at once. I know what it feels like to do everything you can and still feel like it’s not enough.
That experience showed me that families and caregivers need more than written instructions. They need someone who understands healthcare as a system and can walk beside them through it helping them ask the right questions, understand their options, and coordinate what comes next. That’s why I created Nurses With Savvy: to advocate, help organize care, and bring clarity and peace of mind to the people who need it most.
